Human Rights - putting the pieces together.

These are just some of the few pictures that Room 10 looked at today. We have already looked at the Bill of Rights and watched a movie of the 30 rights (articles)all in animation. Today Room 10 had to decide from looking at the picture which right they thought had been violated. We talked about and discussed that a violation of human rights is when one or more of our rights is taken away or unavaliable to us.
These are just a few articles that some students matched to the pictures as what they saw as a violation of human (child) rights.

Article #26 - Everyone has the right to a free education.
Article #18
- Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience, and religion.
Article # 3 - Everyone has the right to life and to live in freedom and safety.

Article #26 - Everyone has the right to a free education.
Article # 24 - Everyone has the right to have time to relax and have fun.

Article #3 - Everyone has the right to life and to live in freedom and safety.
Article # 5 - No one can be treated cruely.
Article # 29 - Everyone has the responsibility to ensure that the rights of others are respected.

Article #25 - Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for health and well-being.

  1. Great lesson. Matching the rights to the pictures makes both more compelling. I am sure there was plenty of discussion about where each one fit.

  2. What a great study, and it is great that the students were able to match visual images with the articles. Great stuff as always, keep it up.

What a wonderful post made all the more powerful by your mixture of text and pictures. I know my students like to view this blog and it is coming along very nicely. Soon you will have 1,000 visitors and you can be very proud of that. Thank you to the students from your class that have been leaving nice comments on our blog we really do appreciate it.
